Today, for the first time in Ukraine, the Day of Ukrainian Statehood is celebrated

The decree on the introduction of this holiday was signed by the president a year ago. The date to commemorate the birth of the state was not chosen by chance – it coincides with the Baptism of Russia-Ukraine

Thus, the new holiday should contribute to the confirmation of the continuity of the rich history of the Ukrainian state, which dates back to the times of Kievan Rus, the Principality of Galicia-Volyn, the Lithuanian-Russian State, the Hetmanate, the Ukrainian People’s Republic, the Ukrainian People’s Republic, the Carpathian Ukraine, and the present day Ukraine
